GIMP - Red-eye Removal

When using Flash on your camera there will be a risk of red eyes.

It happens when the flash is reflected in the blood vessels in the back of the cornea and glass reflections, especially in glasses.


GIMP allows you to fix these errors with a wide range of selection and repair equipment. Here we will look closer at how to remove red eyes in your image.


1. After opening your image,

you need to Now you zoom in until you have a suitable size where you can see both eyes and exactly where the red of the eye starts.










2. Here you select the tool

(Elliptical marker tool) And mark the part of the eye that is red, you can customize the selection and drag the pages.





3. Right click on the highlighted eye and select [Filters] - [Enhancements] - [Remove red-eye]



4. Now you customize the limit of the red eye color by either dragging (Threshold) or typing a value as an example (48) After this you press [O.K]







5. Now you just repeat the same with the other eye.


Below you see the finished result, it has not been completely as desired you repeat the process until you get the desired result.
